About Leila

During my time earning a Bachelor of Science in Public Health at the University of New Mexico, I completed extensive coursework in nursing and sciences. While at the university, I also worked at the UNM Hospital, performing clinical research, disease analysis, health assessments, and patient education. This firsthand experience sparked my passion for helping patients recover from physical and emotional trauma.

While working at the hospital, I watched many patients struggle with medical compliance. I realized that instead of relying solely on clinical interventions, they could drastically improve their health by building sustainable, healthy lifestyle habits like regular exercise. Proper nutrition, targeted movement, and improved mobility could easily resolve many of these chronic conditions.

True healing requires deep technical knowledge, active listening skills, and a genuine heart for patient care. My own struggles with hormonal imbalances and spinal issues eventually forced me to look beyond conventional models. To heal myself, I delved into holistic, science-based methodologies. I dedicated myself to studying meditation, functional nutrition, pelvic floor dysfunction, and lifestyle medicine. I continuously expand my practice through full-range-of-motion bodyweight systems like Animal Flow and the ELDOA spinal method—always remaining a student of the human body to bring the best tools to my clients.

“I won’t just train your body – I’ll IMPROVE your body from the inside out – a holistic approach to exercise.”

Athletics over the years

As a youth I was always interested in various athletic pursuits. I spent time doing gymnastics, karate, swimming, roller skating and spent a few months hiking through Utah living on the land. I then continued my athleticism throughout my adult years.

My interests were not only in the gym with strength training and conditioning but I also spent time doing – Muay Thai, Pilates, Yoga, Animal Flow, outdoor rock Climbing, Hiking, Diving, Aerobic kickboxing, Swimming, Dance (Flamenco, Salsa, Merengue), Running, Bootcamps, Racquetball, Crossfit and anything else that peaked my interest.

I realized at a very young age how perseverance and dedication through physical endurance can help one with self-worth and confidence to serve others. I also had a passion to want to help others find the same inner strengths.

Perhaps for these reasons did I continue educating myself in health and fitness, obtained various nationally recognized certificates as a Personal Fitness Trainer, Animal Flow instructor, Eldoa Trainer as well, worked with a prestigious in- home training agency in Chicago.

Continuing education and experiences

A few years after living in the cold of Chicago I moved to South Florida to warm up. There, I gained more education with an excellent institute for advanced training and corrective exercise- the C.H.E.K Institute. I continued my hands on training with one of the staff instructors, Dan Hellman with H3 who, also happens to be a brilliant Physical Therapist whose work spans clients from many countries.

During that time I also took a deep dive into one of the more progressive holistic nutrition programs with a focus on the hormonal system. After some years I decided to relocate to Southern California to be closer to family and, was able to successfully help even more people there. California was great but when the pandemic hit I decided to relocate to Austin, Texas where I’d lived as a teenager for a few months.

As a holistic trainer and health and wellness consultant, I have helped clients from many walks of life from all over the nation to achieve healthier states of living. The sense of personal satisfaction in seeing my clients lose body fat, improve their confidence, correct spinal dysfunctions, have healthy babies, rehab injuries, fuels my continuing interest in how nutrition and movement heals the human body.

In addition to keeping my own self fit, my continuing education includes courses in the social sciences, mental health, energy work – Reiki, meditation and breath-work for healing. My interests on how diseases begin leads me to learning common and alternative remedies. While at the same time striving to understand the physical, emotional, psychological, socio-cultural, cognitive and environmental components of injury and illness.

What is a holistic personal trainer?

The body operates as a single, interconnected system. Rather than restricting movement to single-plane machines, my training style focuses on integrated movements and primal patterns: squat, lunge, twist, pull, press, gait, and bend.
I teach clients to build strength from the inside out by optimizing the core pillars of health:
  • Mindful, connected movement
  • Whole, high-quality foods
  • Stress reduction techniques
  • Restorative sleep for recovery
Your thoughts shape your reality. True health requires looking past short-term fat loss to build sustainable, lifelong habits. This approach enhances your overall well-being and equips you with the permanent tools needed for longevity & a high-quality life.
